What I liked about it
- Made of 18/8 stainless steel this bottle simply won’t break. It’s built to withstand any conditions you might come across and lives up to its design.
- The color of the bottle won’t fade either. Again specially made to not peel or crack, this’ll keep its funky look for years.
- The cap is leak proof to ensure there won’t be any unwanted accidental spillages.

Smaller than the YETI’s 26-ounce flask, don’t make the mistake in thinking that just because this bottle is 18 ounces it isn’t a serious adventurers bottle.
At 18 ounces it’s one of Hydro’s smaller bottles and it must be said they’ve done a great job at reducing the size down without losing any of the functionality or quality that they’re bigger bottles have.
What I liked about it
- Believe it or not, the size! Being 18 ounces is actually incredibly handy. It can fit into any bag bottle holder easily and even fits into my jacket pocket without being too bulky.
- Constructed with a double wall vacuum insulated stainless steel body there doesn’t exist a bottle which can keep the temperature of liquids more stable than this. Any cold drink will stay cold for 24 hours hot drinks will maintain their temperature for up to 6 hours.
- What’s really cool about this bottle is the matte coating that covers the exterior of the bottle. This gives it the wicked smooth white look that it has but more importantly also completely stops any sweating that might occur. This means even if you completely fill your bottle with ice the outside will never get wet, you’ll never get a wet bag and you’ll never pick it up to see a puddle that’s been left behind.

What I liked about it

The simple construction of these water bottles is just incredible.
What I liked about it

So how should you pick the best tumbler?
In the top tumblers on the market, in general, you want to look for durability, functionality, and cost.
Hydro and Yeti tumblers are the most durable and functional tumblers in the world so with these what else is there to look for?
Again three things –
Size, style, and extras.
Size
Yeti flasks come in a variety of sizes from 10 to 36 ounces and they also sell a half gallon and full gallon jug. This means whatever your needs are, big or small, they’ve got you covered.
The flask sizes that Hydro have are less extensive. They do 18, 32, 40, and 64 ounce sized bottles and also a 12-ounce kids ice cool cooler.
Design
Hydro and Yeti flasks are surprisingly similar in design both being made with 18/8 stainless steel and utilizing double wall vacuum insulation technology.
The difference that they do have is in the precise way that their insulation technology works and of course how the bottle actually looks.

It actually seems that these times the companies but on their product are actually very accurate, however, there are reports of Yeti flasks being used as a coffee thermos and keeping the coffee hot for up to 12 hours.
Whichever way you look at it, they’re the two top leading brands in high quality insulated cups, so you can imagine how well they perform.
Accessorize
Yetis list of accessories goes on and on. They have different types of lids, handles, bottle mounts, safe containers, cool pack, bottle openers, lid and straw tops and more and more. They even have Yeti coffee mugs with a handle.
Whatever you need and whichever way you want to personalize your bottle they’ll have it and Yeti accessorize are known to be just as high quality as their bottles.
Hydro doesn’t do quite as many accessorize but they do still have some cool ones. They have a few different types of caps including a Hydro flask wine tumbler top which is wicked for having some wine subtly on the go.
They also do straw lids and their own bottle brush to clean their bottles with.
Durability
When it comes to durability it’s hard to rate one of these higher than the other. Both have been designed incredibly well and can take a hell of a beating. No matter what kind of crazy activity you’re into these will probably survive through it.

However, most Hydro bottles come with a lifetime warranty which gives a extra bit of peace of mind. Realistically I really don’t think either would ever break anyway but it’s nice to know that if it does they’ve got your back.
Insulated cup maintenance tips
You shouldn’t put either flask in the freezer or on the stove. It won’t necessarily damage them, but they both have double wall vacuum insulation so the outside temperature doesn’t affect the inside temperature and won’t freeze or boil the liquid inside.
Can you put Yeti cups in dishwasher?
Yes, you can! Incredibly YETI have designed their tumblers so they are safe to wash in a dishwasher.
The bottle can be placed on any level but the lid can only be placed on the top shelf.
Either way, it’s damn nice to just be able to chuck it in there and not have to scrub and clean at the end of a long day.
Can you put a Hydro Flask in the dishwasher?
Unfortunately, no. The heat of the water in the dishwasher damages the insulation that Hydro Flasks use and can discolor the powder that’s used to color the bottles. This means you also shouldn’t soak the flask in hot water as this can also discolor it.
Instead, they must be cleaned by hand with hot water, rinsed and then dried. A bottle brush is best to use with white distilled vinegar for cleaning. If there are any bits which are particularly hard to clean a couple of tablespoons of baking soda mixed with a bit of warm water will create a paste. Rub this into the stain with a bristled brush and the stain should disappear.
